Over the last 75 years, Thousands have passed through Goodwill of Greater Washington's doors, and have left with a greater since of self-worth and purpose, and a new found motivation fueled through education, but most importantly, employment. Fred graduated from our construction program last year and received employment in the plumbing industry. Since leaving Goodwill, he’s had a son, paid off previous school debt, and will receive his Bachelor’s degree in Communication this spring! Fred shares, “This program has helped me so much to get to where I am now.”
Christine always knew she had a voice but felt that few people would listen because of her disability. After surviving a violent attack, a troubled past, and working without promotion for 20 years with one company, Christine decided to search for something better and progress in her career.
Before Milton came to Goodwill of Greater Washington, he was homeless and addicted to drugs and alcohol. He had been in and out of shelters, jail and rehab many times before he finally decided that he was tired of living a lifestyle that included, “waking up with rats”.
