This July, the Goodwill Excel Center in Washington, D.C., proudly celebrated a historic milestone, its largest graduating class to date. More than 80 determined adult learners walked across the stage to receive their high school diplomas, marking a significant achievement for both the graduates and the community.
Since opening its doors in 2016, the Goodwill Excel Center has been transformative in Washington, D.C., offering a second chance at education for adults who were unable to complete high school through traditional paths. As a tuition-free adult public charter high school, GEC provides a supportive and flexible learning environment designed specifically for adult students. With classroom flexibility, childcare, transportation assistance, and life coaching, the center removes common barriers adult learners often face, ensuring students of all ages and backgrounds have the support they need to succeed.
This year’s graduating class, ranging in age from 16 to over 65 years, exemplifies the mission and growing impact of the Excel Center. Their journeys are a testament to resilience, determination, and the belief that it is never too late to achieve your goals.
Congratulations to the Class of July 2025. Your hard work and perseverance are already making a difference!
