Goodwill of Greater Washington to Open 21st Store in Rockville, Maryland
WASHINGTON — Goodwill® of Greater Washington (Goodwill) announces the opening of its 21st retail store and donation center 725 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, September 18th, at 9:00 AM but the location is already accepting donations daily between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
During the grand opening, shoppers will be able to enjoy a 25% discount on all donated goods throughout the day, saving even more on already heavily discounted prices.
This store shares retail space with Marlo Furniture and is located in the heart of the Rockville shopping district just south of the Rockville Town Center. Goodwill’s goal is to provide the residents of Montgomery County not only a place to find quality donated goods at great prices but also a destination to donate apparel and household goods that have outgrown their homes, thereby repurposing and further reducing the amount of material sent to our local landfills. In 2020, Goodwill of Greater Washington resold, repurposed or recycled almost 26 million pounds of material goods.
The retail store and donation center will also help the local economy by creating approximately 35 new jobs and will help Goodwill’s mission by providing additional funding for its free job training and education programs through the sale of the donated goods.
