Supporter Spotlight: Truist

A contribution to Goodwill is not only an investment in our organization it is an investment in the women, men, and communities of our region. Perhaps no one understands that better than our corporate partner, Truist (a merger of SunTrust and BB&T), who stepped up in a big way in 2020 to help us meet the pressing needs of the individuals and communities we serve.

Truist awarded Goodwill a generous $120,000 grant for general operating support, helping us to provide critical job training, education, and supportive services in 2020 to those experiencing un- or under-employment as a result of COVID-19. Their gift enabled us to provide free, job skills training through virtual platforms, offer new online Career Navigation Workshops, and provide one-to-one RISE personal and career coaching to hundreds of our program participants and associates.

This gift was the second by Truist in 2020, adding to their generous $100,000 gift from the Truist Cares Fund to provide emergency assistance in the form of direct stipend support to our associates furloughed during the height of the pandemic. In total, Truist granted $220,000 to Goodwill in 2020 to assist those in need.

At a time when so many are struggling to make ends meet in the wake of COVID-19, funding from Truist enabled us to lift-up hundreds of deserving individuals so that they can achieve greater financial stability and a better quality of life.
