Goodwill of Greater Washington is excited to announce that we are opening a new nonprofit Goodwill Retail Store and Donation Center in the Dulles area of Loudoun County. We are currently accepting donations and plan on opening our retail store on April 13th. Needless to say, we are very excited about expanding our operations and outreach further into Loudoun County.

And like a good neighbor we thought this would be a good opportunity to salute some other locally-owned businesses in our new home. Since this is also Women’s History Month, we feel it is appropriate to zoom in on a few women-owned and operated organizations.

Betteralife.org was founded by Elizabeth Ford, who grew up in Reston, VA, and first experienced hunger at the age of seven. Their mission is simple – feed anyone who says, “I am hungry.”  They also do more than just provide meals for those in need. The non-profit also offers educational assistance and life-skills services with the hope of ending the cycle of poverty. You can learn more about this amazing organization here: https://www.betteralife.org/

Dulles Soup Kitchen South was founded by Devina Mahapatra to provide hot meals for those in need in Northern Virginia. Besides providing nourishing meals for those in need, the organization provides volunteer opportunities for those who need to serve and provides an environment of food security in the community. You can learn more about them here: https://www.dullessouthsoupkitchen.org/

Temple Training was founded by Andrea Johnson, also known as Coach Drea.  Her mission is simple - to teach you how to lose weight, boost confidence and feel good in your body without spending hours on the treadmill or in the kitchen. Read about how she can help you transform your life here: https://www.templetraining.net/

The Organizing Mentors was founded by Lisa Geraci Rigoni. Their slogan is “Reclaim Your Space Mentally and Physically”. For over two decades they have helped hundreds of people declutter their lives. They could be the perfect helper for your spring cleaning! Learn more here: https://theorganizingmentors.com/

Reston Limousine and Travel Services began in Reston in 1990 with only five vehicles. Kristina Bouweiri has been the President & CEO since 2000. The company now has a fleet of 230 vehicles and has become a regional transportation operation. Prom season is coming, find out how to book that limo here: https://www.restonlimo.com/

Dulles Moms is a key resource for DC, MD, and VA residents who want to learn about local events and small businesses in the Dulles region. Many of the platform's ongoing spotlights feature inspirational women-owned businesses and service providers! DullesMoms.com
