In 2024, Goodwill of Greater Washington (GGW) opened not just one but two new stores and Donation Centers, including a dazzling Dulles location, and relocated Washington, DC space! Our local nonprofit also moved to a state-of-the-art E-Commerce and Processing Warehouse in Woodbridge and two groundbreaking Donation Xpress locations throughout Northern Virginia.

This past year, GGW was filled with opportunities and innovations, including introducing Penny, a glass pulverizer made possible by the Truist Foundation, which converts donated glass into sand. Penny made her first public appearance at Goodwill Industries International's inaugural Sustainability Summit in Washington, DC.

Transformation through education and employment made significant strides. Our tuition-free adult charter high school, The Goodwill Excel Center, concluded the year with two more graduating classes, expanding its alumni community to over 600 diploma-holding graduates. The RISE Academy (TRAc), Goodwill's signature team member professional development and career advancement program, helped many individuals within our GGW family achieve their life goals inside and outside our organization.

These milestones are just a tiny glimpse of the community impact GGW made in 2024, all thanks to YOU. We invite you to watch the video below to witness more of the magic that took place at your Goodwill this past year.

We look forward to transforming more lives as we celebrate our 90th birthday in 2025! We are Goodwill!
