Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital are invited to Do a Good Turn by collecting gently used items (such as clothing, books, shoes, purses, and housewares) and delivering them to your local Goodwill to earn the 2025 “Good Turn Day” Goodwill Girl Scout patch!

Six Places to Support During National Black Business Month

Established in 2004, Black Business Month is a month-long holiday in August that uplifts, celebrates, and highlights the positive impact of Black businesses nationwide. According to the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development’s website, this holiday is essential because it “not only contributes to economic empowerment but also inspires the next generation of Black entrepreneurs.” As a workforce development nonprofit, this statement deeply resonates with us!
