When it comes to remote work best practices, it's essential to establish clear boundaries between work and personal time.

Each year, Goodwill of Greater Washington holds its annual Celebration of RISE Breakfast and Awards Ceremony.  The event, held this year at the National Press Club, provides an opportunity for hundreds of members from our retail, contracts, community impact, education, and administrative teams to spend some quality time together, which can be difficult being a very geographically diverse social enterprise.  

Over the next two weeks, we're excited to recognize Staff Appreciation Week (May 1-5) and Teacher Appreciation Week (May 8-12) at Goodwill of Greater Washington's adult charter high school, The Goodwill Excel Center (GEC). Instead of describing more about how GEC staff is inspirational, passionate, and dedicated - we want to share some real words of gratitude from real students and graduates of the school. Here's a glimpse of what they shared. 

While most people know Goodwill for its chain of donation centers and sustainable retail stores, Goodwill also operates a variety of other businesses that you may not hear as much about.

During this time, we collectively honor and highlight the accomplishments of Black Americans as a nation and aim to learn more about the African diaspora. We will spotlight several members of our Goodwill family throughout the month and share how they celebrate Black History Month and what it means to them.
