Crista Cascardo's journey with Goodwill of Greater Washington began after she returned home from the harsh realities of incarceration. At Goodwill, she found not just a job, but a community that embraced her. 

After starting in her position, she entered The RISE Academy, a Goodwill training program to help people advance in their career within the organization and beyond. Through her hard work, and with Goodwill's support, Crista was promoted and was able to save enough to buy a vehicle, a symbol of her new chance at freedom and independence. 

Crista says that every day she is learning, growing, and striving to be the best mother she can be to her son. She is driven by her belief that “You can transform not only your life but anybody else’s life by doing the simplest of things.”
