A Letter from the President
As we enjoy summer, I am warmed by our journey together this year and filled with overwhelming gratitude and pride. Goodwill has nurtured the dreams of thousands of our neighbors, like Tammy. Her story is one of strength, encouragement, and resilience. I am humbled and empowered by her determination and drive for a better life for herself and her children, not to mention her desire to pay it forward. We are privileged Tammy chose Goodwill to be a part of her life’s journey.
Goodwill’s environmental endeavors encapsulate a vision for a healthier and greener community. Our award-winning sustainability initiatives are a testament to bettering our society. Thanks to partners like Accenture, we continue our sustainability growth to ensure that used-goods donations that cannot be sold in our retail stores are recycled and kept out of local landfills.
Goodwill received approval to rebuild the Glebe Road store with new affordable housing units for our local community. Expanding into affordable housing will transform our neighbors’ economic and living conditions and meet one of the biggest barriers to achieving their fullest potential—an affordable place to call home. Goodwill’s impact on the low- to moderate-income community can be measured in jobs created, low-cost and high-quality items sold, and, in the future, affordable housing provided.
Goodwill’s initiatives, powered by grants and generous donations, create a ripple effect of positive change for individuals and our community. Through each generous gesture and every step toward a more inclusive and greener future, Goodwill’s donors have been a cornerstone of our thriving mission. Your steadfast support enables Goodwill to grow and evolve, turning our vision into a tangible reality that resonates in the lives of many. I deeply thank each of you for being a part of this incredible journey.
