Washington, DC – Goodwill of Greater Washington (Goodwill) is more than a caring, local nonprofit organization that provides jobs, job training, and educational services to people with disadvantages and differing abilities. It’s also an inexpensive and sustainable option for back-to-school shopping.

With 22 convenient retail stores throughout the greater Washington, DC region, Goodwill is easily accessible to everyone looking for quality, yet inexpensive, apparel and school supplies.

Not only is shopping at Goodwill easy on the wallet, it’s also good for the planet. In 2023, donations to Goodwill kept more than 45 million pounds of material out of local area landfills.

Many items that can’t be sold at Goodwill stores are now recycled through the Goodwill Sustainability Center protecting our local environment. Goodwill now recycles glass, plastic bags, books, cardboard, computers, and soon, textiles.
