Color of the Week (COTW) Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why did you reduce the Color of the Week discount from 75% to 50% for Goodwill Rewards Club members?
A: At Goodwill of Greater Washington, we are grateful for all of our shoppers and donors. The purpose of the Color of the Week Sale is to show our most loyal customers how much we value them by offering them exclusive discounts. While we are reducing the Color of the Week discount, we are adding additional exclusive sales throughout the year that will create more savings opportunities in addition to the Color of the Week.
Q: Why did you eliminate the Color of the Week discount for non-loyalty club members?
A: The Color of the Week discount continues to remain available to any Goodwill of Greater Washington customer. We are simply asking that they join the Goodwill Rewards Club in order to receive the discount. It only requires a cell phone number and email address. The club is free to join.
Q: You get your donations for free. How do you price your merchandise?
A: We are extremely grateful for the generous donations from our community. As a local, charitable, nonprofit organization, Goodwill funds our mission services through the sale of donated goods. We use a competitive pricing model that ensures that our prices are comparable to other local thrift stores. The more Goodwill makes from the sale of the goods in our stores, the more money we can funnel into our mission and the more people we can help in our community. Goodwill invests 94 cents out of every dollar towards our workforce development mission.
Q: What other benefits do Goodwill Rewards Club members receive?
A: Starting in 2025, Goodwill of Greater Washington will offer additional, exclusive sales only available to Rewards Club members. These sales may include discount offers, buy one/get one free offers, or other traditional retail sales that Goodwill of Greater Washington hasn’t offered in many years. These sales will ONLY be available to loyalty club members. Members will also receive invitations to exclusive events like retail meetups, Goodwill celebrations, and community partnership activities. To join the Goodwill Rewards Club just share your name, email address, and cell phone number with a Goodwill Team Member as you check out today.
