Mary Brady oversees The Economic Club of Washington, DC, the premier forum for leaders, with a membership roster of 1,000 senior executives with offices in the Washington Metropolitan region and beyond. Since its founding in 1986 as a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, the Club has served as a global interface for the world’s government and international business luminaries. Mary is responsible for featuring speakers that include Presidents of United States, Prime Ministers, Speakers of U.S. House of Representatives, heads of the Federal Reserve Board, every Secretary of the Treasury since 1986, Cabinet members, and leaders of Fortune Global 100 corporations.

Mary is a dynamic leader, governing all Club operations. She has been with the Club since its inception, presiding over development and strategic direction, while simultaneously managing and mentoring a high-performing staff and fostering an inclusive environment of growth and development. As a keen visionary and natural entrepreneur, Mary has grown The Economic Club into the largest business advocacy organization in the nation’s capital. Year after year, Mary continues to build sustainable revenue and programming, including Signature Events, Executive Conversations, Member-Led forums, an Executive Fellows program, and sponsorship opportunities.

Now in its 10th year, Mary spearheaded a global initiative that expands the Club’s offering to businesses with extensive global interests by providing a wide array of international programming through its various platforms. Mary also directs the Club’s “Scholars to Leaders” education program with annual giving of more than a million dollars, directly benefiting fifty graduating seniors from D.C. Public High Schools each year. Now in its fifteenth year, the program has awarded nearly $11 million to 711 scholars.

A non-profit executive by background, Mary worked with the leadership of Washington D.C. on special projects that improved the City’s infrastructure – major real estate transactions including bringing the sports arena to Gallery Place, the renovation of Union Station, the development of the new Convention Center, and the completion of the Federal Triangle.

In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of the Economic Club, Mary is also an Advisory Board Member for M&T Bank, a Board Member for the American Red Cross of the National Capital & Greater Chesapeake Region, a Board Member for the Women’s Foreign Policy Group, Vice Chair of the Easterseals DC MD VA’s 2024 Advocacy Awards, 2024 Host Committee Member for the Ball for The Mall, 2024 Host Committee Member for Women Giving Back, past Board Member and current Nominating Committee Member for Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital, Advisor for Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind, and past judge for EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
