The Goodwill Excel Center (GEC), Goodwill of Greater Washington’s unique, tuition-free adult charter high school, will be graduating its fifth class! We would like to introduce a few of our graduates to you!

The Goodwill Excel Center graduated its third and largest class to date:  65 students! Every graduate spent almost two years diligently working toward earning the diploma that had eluded them earlier in life.  Finally, their dedication and commitment paid off! We are also proud to share the story of a grandmother and grandson who earned their diplomas together.

We would like to take a moment to applaud the 15 adults who comprised the very first graduating class from The Goodwill Excel Center in Washington D.C. On Friday, July 21st, these amazing individuals walked across the stage and accepted their high school diploma, unlocking the door to a brighter future for themselves and paving the way for future Excel Center students to follow in their footsteps.

Going back to school as an adult is no small undertaking. But as each level of education is achieved the opportunities in one's professional life are expanded. A high school education is the essential foundation of countless career paths and for adults who are looking to obtain that level of education we invite you to consider these 5 points.

One year ago this month we began recruitment and enrollment for The Goodwill Excel Center Adult Public Charter High School. It has been a tremendous undertaking and while there have been many ups and downs we couldn't be happier with the path that it has taken over the last year.

2017 promises to be a tremendous year at Goodwill of Greater Washington. Here are just a few things that you can expect to see from us in the new year.

On February 26th the Goodwill Excel Center Adult Charter High School officially began enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year. Goodwill Excel Center is Washington, D.C.’s first adult charter high school to award a high school diploma and industry recognized credentials rather than a GED.

On May 18, 2015 Goodwill of Greater Washington was approved to open a new adult charter high school, Excel Center, for the Washington, DC community.
